Websites and culture

Culture affects websites in unpredictable ways. It's one reason why different countries have unique looks of their websites.

Geert Hofstede explains some cultural dimensions of how people in different cultures differ from each other. But this means that the websites they create also differ. Below, we can see some screenshots of some web portals from different countries and continents that we can examine for similarities and differences. To gain a new perspective, we can try to classify them according to the dimensions of Hofstede.
